Few women enjoy their jobs as much as Beth Dix enjoys hers! As designer and owner of Primrose Lane Patterns, she’ll admit that she spends her days "playing with dolls".
"God has truly blessed me with this business", says Beth. "I believe it’s a gift from Him."
She has spent years dabbling in different crafts and needlearts. Her skills include general sewing, heirloom sewing, quilting, English Smocking, silk ribbon embroidery, knitting, crochet, drawing and painting, among others. At one time, she sold smocking supplies and taught classes in her home. Later, she hosted handmade craft parties, selling her own crafts, as well as those of over 40 different crafters. More recently, she spent several years teaching quilting in the evenings at a local high school.
In 1993 she started Primrose Lane and is now busier than ever! Besides designing and marketing her patterns through Primrose Lane, she has expanded the online catalog to include smocking supplies and patterns from a variety of other designers. In addition, she’s a wife and mother of three grown daughters.
"Thank God I have a patient husband! With everything that I’m involved in, housework isn’t always at the top of the list."
"Primrose Lane has proven to be the culmination of all the talents and skills that I have developed over the years. I love it, because I can combine them in a way that makes my job really enjoyable. I never seem to lack for ideas, only for the hours necessary to create them."
With that in mind, I’m sure we can expect to be seeing a lot more of her designs in the months ahead!
